2016 Honorees

Andi Olsonawski

Andi OlsonawskiI was diagnosed with brain cancer on September 11th, 2015. I could tell that something was wrong because I lacked energy and mental focus. As a busy mom of four young children, I easily ignored some of the symptoms as they were similar to what I have with allergies.

I was at a Shanley football game and I almost passed out. My husband brought me to the emergency room at Sanford where the doctor did a brain scan that ultimately revealed the large tumor in the center of my brain. A month later I had a brain resection at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in which they were able to remove 95% of the brain tumor.

I always say that going through brain surgery is a very humbling experience. I am thankful to all the doctors, nurses, teachers, friends, and family who have made my recovery a reality.

The future for those affected by a Glioblastoma is hopeful. Thanks to people who support the Pray for Gray foundation, as it shows that many people will live with Hope for future.
