Kelli Forster

Kelli ForsterKelli's brain tumor journey began in January 2013 when she suddenly started having seizures. Her first MRI on January 31st, 2013 showed a mass in her brain. After hearing that news from our local doctor, we made plans for a trip to St. Paul Children's Hospital. We spent the weekend there monitoring seizure activity and learning about the treatment that Kelli would need. She had surgery on February 21st, 2013. The surgical team was able to remove the entire tumor and the only follow up treatment she needed was an MRI scan every 4 months to watch for regrowth of the malignant Ependymoma.

Fast forward a couple of years....Kelli started to experience symptoms which led to an unscheduled MRI in February 2015. Unfortunately, the scan showed regrowth of the tumor. On March 27th, Kelli had her second surgery to remove it. Since the tumor had come back once, we needed to follow surgery with 30 radiation treatments to try to prevent teh cancer from recurring. Kelli finished her radiation treatment on June 29th, 2015 we will continue to monitor the tumor site for stability by having MRI's every 3 months.

After countless medical appointments and 15 MRI's (so far), we're happy to report that God has blessed Kelli with a beautiful recovery and we look forward to a very bright future for her!!

We support the Pray for Gray foundation in hope that medical research will lead to a time when no patient has to receive (and no doctor has to deliver) the news that a brain tumor exists!!
