"In Memoriam"

Stuart Keller March 12th, 1974 - June 22nd, 2017

Stuart KellerI started having headaches in late November 2015 in which I attributed to stress from a crazy work schedule and sinus issues discovered by me ENT doctor. My dad was also in a coma at the time in ICU which I felt could also be a factor. On January 8th, 2016 I had multiple seizures and was admitted to the ER for testing.

An MRI was ordered and it revealed a large mass under the left side of my forehead. A brain biopsy was performed at Sanford 2 days later and this scan was sent to the Mayo Clinic for further testing, which ultimately revealed a Grade IV Glioblastoma.

With my past complicated medical history of fighting childhood leukemia at age 7 and having already been through very aggressive chemo and cranial radiation back then, it was decided that my best treatment plan of "re-radiating" the brain again would be down at MD Anderson in Houston, TX where I spent a month with the help of my wife and family. I still continue to have daily headaches and balance issues, but I am happy to say that my most recent MRI showed my tumor is shrinking and I now continue chemotherapy just one week every 29 days!

Things are going as well as can be expected and I am having fun making great memories with my family by crossing off items on my bucket list which I created back in February.
